The infectious diseases department manages bacterial, viral, parasitic and fungal infections. Our infectious disease specialists provide diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of severe and complex infections.
Severe infections and sepsis
Sepsis, septic shock and severe infections requiring parenteral antibiotic therapy or isolation are managed in close collaboration with the intensive care department. Responsible antibiotic use is a constant priority.
HIV and sexually transmitted infections
The department provides screening, treatment and follow-up for people living with HIV according to the latest international recommendations. Care for STIs is provided confidentially and with compassion.
Tropical infections and travel medicine
Malaria, typhoid fever, viral hepatitis and other tropical diseases are investigated and treated by our team. Travel medicine consultations are offered before any trip to an at-risk area.
